Privacy notice

Stoneage Natural Rocks Inc., a Georgia corporation, trading as Stoneage Natural Rocks & Crystals. We run retail stores in Georgia, North Carolina and Florida and a distribution warehouse behind them.

Our online shop is a separate site on a separate platform, with its own privacy policy covering orders, payment and delivery. If you bought something from us, that is the policy that applies to your order.

This site does not sell anything, take payments, or ask you to create an account.

Only what a form asks for. We also count visits, in the ordinary way any website does, and that measurement is described further down. It tells us that a visit happened and what was read. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not try to work it out.

One thing is recorded that no form asks for. If you arrived from an advertisement, or from a link on another website, the form notes which advertisement or link it was, so we can tell which campaign brought you here. That is a fact about the click rather than about you: it is not an identifier, we do not try to work out who you are from it, and it is forgotten when you close the tab.

The categories are the same across the forms: your name, contact details such as email address and phone number, the organization you are writing on behalf of if any, whatever you choose to write in a free-text box, a document if you attach one, and the advertisement or link that brought you here if there was one. Beyond that it depends on which form you are filling in.

Job enquiries

Name, email, phone, the store or location you are interested in, the kind of work, anything you write in the message, and a resume file if you attach one. Used to consider you for work here.

Growth role enquiries

Name, email, phone, where you would want to build, whether you are running a business now, your operating experience, your timeline, anything else you write, and a document if you attach one. Used to decide whether to have a conversation about the role.

Supplier enquiries

Name, email, phone, the business name, what kind of supplier you are, what you supply, where you operate, how specific the origin is, what has been done to the material, what paperwork travels with a shipment, how you know where it comes from, lead time, minimums and terms, a catalog link if you give one, and your confirmation that treatments will be disclosed in writing. Used by our buying team.

Press, film and production

Name, email, phone, the organization, which kind of request it is, and your message. Depending on the request, also the store, preferred dates, when you need it, crew size, a budget band, insurance details, a press deadline, your social handles and audience size, a reference link, and which areas you need in frame. Used to answer the request.

Name, email, phone, and your message.

Technical

Our host records ordinary web server logs, meaning the request, the time and an IP address, to keep the site running and to stop abuse. We measure visits as described below. We do not run advertising pixels on this site and we do not advertise to you based on having been here.

Other parties

One. Google Analytics runs on this site and Google receives the fact of your visit, the pages you opened, a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser, your approximate location from your IP address, and your device and browser type. It also records that a form was sent or a document downloaded, and which one, so we can tell which pages lead somewhere. Nothing you typed into the form is included. We use it to understand how the site is found and read. We have not switched on the settings that would let Google connect this to a signed in Google account or use it to advertise to you elsewhere, and we do not intend to. No other party collects anything about your activity here.

Until recently this site set no cookies at all. It now sets two, both belonging to the analytics service, and they hold a randomly generated number that lets it tell a returning browser from a new one. There is no name in them and nothing that identifies you.

The site also stores three small preferences in your browser: whether you chose the light or dark theme, whether you asked for reduced motion, and whether you turned sound on. Those never leave your device and are not sent anywhere.

If you would rather not be counted, any of these works. Turn on the Global Privacy Control in your browser, which this site checks before it loads anything: with that signal on, the analytics service is never contacted and no cookie is set. Block cookies for this site in your browser settings. Or install Google's own opt out add on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, which switches the measurement off across every site that uses it. Nothing here behaves differently if you do. There is no consent banner on this site because we would rather it simply worked, and because nothing we measure is worth interrupting you over.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

We do not use what you send through this site to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you contacted us about a job, a partnership or a shoot.

There are four categories of third party, and no others: our website host, the hosted database and file store where form submissions and uploaded documents are kept, an email service we use to reply to you, and the analytics service described above.

The first three process the data under contract, only to provide the service to us, and none of them is permitted to use it for anything of their own. We do not disclose it to any other category of third party.

The fourth is different in kind and is separated out for that reason. The analytics service never receives anything you type into a form. It receives only the measurement described above, and it is the one relationship on this list where the other party is large enough to set its own terms rather than accept ours.

We will disclose information if the law requires it, if we are responding to a lawful request from an authority, or if we need to establish or defend a legal claim. Otherwise it stays with us.

Nothing you send us through a form on this site is set up to leave the United States. The analytics measurement is handled on Google's global infrastructure and may be processed outside it.

Longer than you might expect for job enquiries, and there is a reason. Federal recordkeeping rules require an employer to preserve employment records, including resumes and application materials, for at least one year, and longer where a claim is pending. We cannot delete those on request inside that window, and any policy that promised otherwise would be one we could not keep.

Job enquiries

Kept on file for up to 24 months, and never less than the 12 months federal rules require. After that they are deleted unless you have asked us to keep you on file for longer or a hiring process is live.

Growth role enquiries

Treated the same way as a job enquiry, because that is what it is: up to 24 months, never less than the 12 months federal recordkeeping rules require.

Everything else

Kept as long as needed to deal with the request and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.

We limit access to what you send us to the people who need it to do the job, and we take reasonable measures to protect it. Florida law imposes an affirmative duty on us to do that, and we would want to anyway.

No system is perfect. If information you sent us were ever exposed, we would tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires, and we would tell you what actually happened rather than the least alarming version of it.

Write to hello@stoneageshops.com and ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will do it unless a law requires us to keep it, and if that is the case we will tell you which one and when the period ends.

You do not have to give us anything. Everything on this site is a form you chose to open.

California and Delaware both require any commercial website that collects personal information from their residents to post a notice like this one, regardless of the size of the business. That is why this page exists in the form it does.

We are not a “business” under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We are well below every threshold that statute sets, we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not meet its volume tests. So there is no “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” control on this site: there is nothing for it to switch off. If that ever changes, this notice changes with it.

This site does not respond to the old Do Not Track browser signal, which no current browser sends and which was never adopted as a standard. It does honour the Global Privacy Control, the signal that replaced it: if your browser sends it, the analytics tag is never loaded and Google is never contacted. We do not sell or share personal information in any case, so there is nothing further for either signal to stop.

This site is for adults doing business with us and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

If this notice changes we will change the date at the top. If a change actually matters, such as a new category of information or a new reason for collecting it, we will say so here rather than hoping you re-read it.
